Knee replacement, hip replacement and spine surgery are offered to international patients at accredited hospitals across India. Recovery depends on physiotherapy as well as surgery. So we plan the rehabilitation stay alongside the operation. Your orthopaedic surgeon decides whether surgery is right for you and how long you should stay before flying home.
Which procedures can international patients have?
- Total and partial knee replacement
- Hip replacement and resurfacing
- Robotic-assisted joint replacement where available
- Spine surgery — disc, fusion and minimally invasive procedures
- Arthroscopy and sports injury repair
- Shoulder replacement
Conditions and their treatment journeys
- Knee Osteoarthritis — Worn knee joints causing pain and stiffness, often treated with partial or total knee replacement.
- Hip Arthritis & Hip Damage — Arthritis or damage to the hip joint, treated with total hip replacement or resurfacing.
- Spinal Disc Disease & Stenosis — Slipped discs and narrowing of the spinal canal causing back or leg pain, treated surgically when other care fails.

What to prepare before your case review
- Recent X-rays and MRI with the images, not only the reports
- Notes from your orthopaedic doctor
- Blood tests and any cardiac clearance you already have
- Current medicines and allergies
Where in India is it done?
Hospitals with strong programmes in this area are concentrated in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Jaipur. We suggest hospitals based on your case, not on a fixed list.
What does it cost?
We do not publish price tables. The cost of treatment depends on your diagnosis, the hospital, the room category and your recovery, so any single number would mislead you. Through the case review you receive written estimates from the hospitals themselves, side by side.
Medical decisions
IndiaMedica is not a hospital and does not give medical advice. Your treating specialists decide on your treatment.
Questions patients ask
Will physiotherapy be arranged?
Yes. We arrange in-hospital physiotherapy and, where needed, sessions at your recovery stay, as prescribed by your surgeon.
Can both knees be replaced in one trip?
Sometimes. Whether bilateral surgery is suitable is a medical decision your surgeon makes after reviewing your reports and fitness.
