A modern radiotherapy treatment room

Breast Cancer

Multidisciplinary care — surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and targeted therapy — planned by a tumour board.

Breast cancer treatment depends on the type and stage of the tumour. A multidisciplinary tumour board — surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists — recommends a plan, which may combine several treatments over time.

What treatment options may your specialist discuss?

  • Breast-conserving surgery or mastectomy, with reconstruction where suitable
  • Chemotherapy, hormonal and targeted therapy
  • Radiation therapy

What does the trip look like, stage by stage?

  1. 01

    Before you travel

We share your biopsy report, pathology slides or blocks and scans with suitable accredited hospitals, return their written opinions and estimates, and — once you choose — arrange the hospital letter for your e-Medical visa and up to two attendant visas.

  2. 02

    Arrival and assessment

Airport pickup, check-in near the hospital and your first consultation. The specialist team reviews your reports in person and orders any repeat tests they need before confirming the plan.

  3. 03

    Tumour board plan

Your case is discussed by the multidisciplinary team, who explain the recommended plan and alternatives to you.

  4. 04

    Treatment phase

Surgery, chemotherapy or radiation as planned. Some treatment can continue at home under your local oncologist.

  5. 05

    Stay and support

A long-stay apartment if treatment runs in cycles, with interpreter and family support.

  6. 06

    Fitness to fly and home

A final review, your discharge summary, medicines and written follow-up plan. We arrange the return journey and the first teleconsultation with your treating team.

About timelines

We do not publish how many days each stage takes. That depends on your condition, your treatment and how you recover, and it is decided by your treating specialist — who sets it out in writing before you travel.
