You can get a written second opinion from specialists at accredited Indian hospitals before deciding to travel. You send your reports, scans and, where relevant, pathology material through IndiaMedica. With your consent, specialists review them and write back with the recommended treatment, alternatives and the team involved. The review is free and does not commit you to treatment in India.

What is a remote second opinion?
It is a written view from another specialist based on your existing records. No travel is needed at this stage. The opinion may agree with your current plan, suggest an alternative or ask for more tests. It is not a diagnosis made in person.
What material do specialists usually need?
Your case manager confirms the exact list for your condition. Imaging is most useful in its original digital format rather than photographs of a screen. For cancer cases the National Cancer Institute explains that a second pathology review uses the original slides or tissue block. These come from the hospital or laboratory that did the biopsy. Contact that facility early to ask how it releases them.
Who sees your reports?
IndiaMedica shares your reports only with the hospitals you agree to. They are used only to obtain opinions and estimates. They are deleted when you ask. You can withdraw consent at any time.
An opinion is not a decision
A written opinion helps you ask better questions. The specialist who examines you in person decides whether a treatment is suitable. Your own doctor at home can help you weigh the advice.
What happens if you decide to travel?
You compare each hospital’s opinion and written estimate. If you choose to go ahead, the hospital issues the letter for your e-Medical visa and planning begins.
Questions people ask
Can I get a second opinion without travelling to India?
Yes. The review is done from your records. You send reports and imaging securely and specialists at accredited hospitals reply in writing. You only travel if you decide to go ahead with treatment after reading the opinions and estimates.
Why might a specialist ask for more tests?
Reports may be old, incomplete or missing key images. A specialist may need a recent scan, the original imaging files or a pathology review before forming a view. Your case manager explains what is missing and why it was requested.
