Bahraini nationals are eligible for the Indian e-Visa, so patients can apply online for an e-Medical visa. In September 2025 the Embassy of India in Bahrain warned applicants to use only the official Government of India e-Visa website. Fraudulent look-alike sites exist.

Which visa does a Bahraini patient need?
Bahrain appears on the official e-Visa eligible list. A patient applies for the e-Medical visa and a companion for the e-Medical Attendant visa. Up to two attendant visas can be granted against one patient visa.
How do you avoid fraudulent visa websites?
On 21 September 2025 the Embassy of India in Bahrain issued a public notice. It urged all e-Visa applicants to use the official link and not to apply through fraudulent websites. The official page it named is indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.
- Type the address yourself rather than clicking a search advert.
- Check that the address ends in gov.in before entering passport details.
- Do not pay an agent who promises a faster or certain e-Visa.
- Keep the confirmation email the official portal sends you.
What are the e-Visa conditions?
- Apply at least four days before arrival, within a 120-day window.
- Hold a passport with six months’ validity on the application date and two blank pages.
- The e-Visa cannot be extended or converted, and it is not valid for protected, restricted or cantonment areas.
- Biometric details are captured at immigration on arrival.
Who should not use the e-Visa?
Exclusions apply before anything else. The portal says holders of diplomatic or official passports cannot use the e-Visa. Nor can people with a serving or retired defence, military, security or police background. If this applies to the patient or an attendant, apply for a regular medical visa through the Embassy instead. Leave extra time for that route.
What should you prepare?
- Reports, imaging and prescriptions from your doctor in Bahrain.
- The Indian hospital’s acceptance letter.
- Passport scans for your attendants.
- A note of your medicines and allergies for the admission team.
Is Arabic support available?
IndiaMedica publishes a full Arabic edition. You can send your reports and questions in Arabic, and we pass hospital replies back to you clearly. We can ask the hospital about an Arabic interpreter.
How does IndiaMedica help Bahraini patients?
We review your reports free of charge and ask suitable hospitals for an opinion. The treating specialist decides on treatment and when you can fly home. We never apply for visas on your behalf. We point you to the official portal and help you get the hospital letter right.
