IndiaMedica publishes its site in five editions: English, Arabic, Bengali, Russian and French. Every page exists in each edition with the same address pattern. Case managers reply in your language, and an interpreter can be arranged on arrival in India. The English edition is the reference for medical and legal detail.
IndiaMedicaLanguage support at IndiaMedicaWhich languages does IndiaMedica publish in?
IndiaMedica’s site file for AI readers lists five editions. English is at indiamedica.com. Arabic is at /ar, Bengali at /bn, Russian at /ru and French at /fr. Every page exists in all five with the same slugs, so you can switch language without losing your place.
Are the editions machine-translated?
No. IndiaMedica states that each edition is written natively for its market and not machine-translated. Because medical and legal wording must be exact, the English edition is the reference. If two editions ever differ, the English text governs.
What language will my case manager use?
The planning page states that the case manager replies in your language. Write in the language you are most comfortable with. Your reports can be in English or in your own language. Ask your case manager whether a translation of any report will help the specialists.
What about language support in hospital?
- Ask for an interpreter when you plan arrival, not on the day.
- Tell the case manager which language and dialect you speak.
- Ask the hospital whether its international patient department has staff who speak your language.
- Ask for key documents such as the discharge summary to be explained to you before you sign or leave.
- Keep a written list of your medicines in English and your own language.
Clinical words matter
An interpreter helps you understand. Consent forms and discharge papers are usually in English. Ask for anything unclear to be explained until you are sure.
Questions people ask
Is there a Somali or Uzbek edition?
The five published editions are English, Arabic, Bengali, Russian and French. Readers in Central Asia usually use the Russian edition. If you prefer another language for messages, tell your case manager and ask what support is available.
Will an interpreter cost extra?
Interpreters are an optional service. IndiaMedica quotes optional services such as accommodation, interpreters and transfers in writing before you agree to them. The case review, hospital opinions and estimates are free.
