Which visa route suits a Senegalese patient?

Senegal is listed as eligible on India’s official e-Visa portal. With an ordinary passport, the e-Medical visa is applied for online, supported by an Indian hospital letter showing the suggested admission date. Up to two attendants apply for e-Medical Attendant visas. Upload a photograph on a white background and a PDF of the passport details page, and apply at least four days before arrival.

How does the Embassy of India in Dakar handle regular visas?

  • Select ‘Senegal-Dakar’ as the Indian mission on the online form.
  • Visit the embassy in person to submit the application and enrol biometric data.
  • Bring a valid yellow fever inoculation certificate, which the embassy states is mandatory.
  • Pay the fee in cash in local currency at the embassy, as its page states.

The embassy also serves nationals of The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Cabo Verde, who must show proof of residence.

Yellow fever on arrival

Senegal is on the yellow fever endemic list reproduced by India’s Ministry of Health. A traveller without a valid certificate can be quarantined. Carry the original certificate in your hand luggage.

Which language edition suits Senegalese families?

IndiaMedica’s French edition was written natively for francophone Africa, Senegal included. English remains the reference edition, and Indian hospital records are in English. Ask the hospital whether it can provide French-speaking support.

How should reports be prepared?

Send reports in French with an English summary from your doctor where possible. Imaging should travel as full digital files. The specialist decides which further tests are needed once you arrive.

Where do Senegalese e-Visa holders arrive?

The portal lists designated airports including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Land at a listed airport only.

What practical points matter?

India prohibits narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances without authority, so check controlled medicines with the hospital and carry prescriptions. Declare foreign currency above prescribed limits on arrival. During Ramadan, ask the hospital how meals and medicine times can fit your fast if your doctor allows fasting.

How does IndiaMedica help Senegalese patients?

We review reports free, in French or English, request opinions from accredited hospitals and help you obtain the hospital letter for either visa route. Partner hospitals pay a disclosed referral fee that never changes your price.
