Tajik nationals are eligible for the Indian e-Visa, so patients can apply online for an e-Medical visa with up to two attendant visas. A clear medical file matters as much as the visa. Indian specialists can only advise once they have read your reports and seen your scans.

Which visa does a Tajik patient need?
Tajikistan appears on the official e-Visa eligible list. The patient applies for the e-Medical visa and companions for e-Medical Attendant visas. Apply at least four days before arrival and within a 120-day window.
Who cannot use the e-Visa?
Exclusions first. The portal says holders of diplomatic or official passports cannot use the e-Visa. Nor can anyone with a serving or retired defence, military, security or police background. They must apply for a regular visa at an Indian mission. Check this for every attendant as well as the patient.
How should you prepare your medical file?
- Ask your doctor for a summary of the diagnosis, tests and treatment so far, in English if possible.
- Collect the original scan files, such as CT or MRI images in DICOM format, not only the written reports.
- Include pathology or biopsy reports where they exist.
- List every medicine you take, with doses.
- Add earlier discharge summaries and operation notes.
A specialist cannot plan treatment from a short description. A complete file means fewer repeat tests and clearer advice.
What does the hospital need for the visa?
After review, the hospital that accepts your case issues a letter naming you and your attendants. Make sure the names match your passports exactly. Your passport needs six months’ validity when you apply and two blank pages.
What happens on arrival?
Biometric details are captured at immigration. The Bureau of Immigration asks travellers to complete an e-Arrival card online within 72 hours before arrival. Keep your medical file in your hand luggage.
Is Russian-language support available?
IndiaMedica publishes a full Russian edition. If you read Russian, you can send your case and questions in Russian. We can ask hospitals about a Russian-speaking interpreter.
How does IndiaMedica help Tajik patients?
We review your reports free of charge and tell you if anything important is missing before we share them. With your consent, we send the file to suitable hospitals. The treating specialist decides whether treatment is suitable and what the plan should be.
Questions people ask
Which reports should a Tajik patient send first?
Send your doctor’s summary, recent blood tests, the scan files and any pathology reports. Add a list of medicines and earlier discharge summaries. IndiaMedica will tell you if a specialist is likely to ask for anything else.
Can a former police officer use the e-Medical visa?
No. The e-Visa portal says people with a serving or retired defence, military, security or police background are not eligible for the e-Visa. They should apply for a regular medical visa through an Indian mission.
Do I need to translate my reports?
Indian hospitals usually review reports in English. If yours are in Tajik or Russian, an English summary from your doctor helps. You can still write to IndiaMedica in Russian.
